- Up to 50% of the crush resistance of your roof depends on a properly bonded windshield.
- Most passenger side airbags are designed to use the windshield like a backboard. A factory strong bond is
mandatory ensure the airbag operates properly.
- Many advanced safety systems, such as lane departure, or emergency braking, rely on cameras and sensors in the
windshield to work properly. These must be reinstalled and often calibrated following a replacement.
- There are up to 5 unique chemical compounds used to bond a windshield. The right products must be used in the
right order, with proper surface preparation to build a factory strong bond.
- Adhesives must cure to build strength. Cure time depends on the product used and the environment. Urethane
adhesives cure in warm, wet climates. Dry or cool weather can lead to poor strength for extended time periods –
unless the correct products are used.
