ADVANCED AUTOMOTIVE FEATURES

The automobile industry is doubling-down on their development of advanced driver assisted systems, known in the industry as ADAS.

HOW DOES ADAS AFFECT YOU?

Many ADAS features use sensors that can be integrated into your windshield. That's why Don's Mobile Glass requires the precise setting of your windshield, which is absolutely necessary for ADAS.

We require the use of a precision setting device during one-man jobs. Not only do setting devices, like the one seen here, reduce stress and strain on the technician, they ensure the proper installation of ADAS features in your windshield.

Every Don's Mobile Glass Auto Technician must endure 8 weeks of training. Before completion, they must be learn:

  • The ins and outs of ADAS
  • A deep understanding of customer service
  • Chip repair and the types of chips
  • The use of the setting device
  • Mechanically fastened glass parts
  • The value of Personal Protection Equipment
  • Urethane Application

QUALITY ADHESIVES

Sika®

  • Sika® MACH 60 is a one component cold-applied, fast-curing, high-viscosity polyurethane adhesive.
  • The use of high quality products requires flash/cure times.
  • Our DMG technicians endure a grueling eight (8) week training course mastering the use of this products.
  • Our technicians always observe proper chemical use and flash/cure times.
  • At Don's Mobile Glass we always observe Required Adhesive Minimum Drive Away Times.

While other glass companies chose to ignore rust/corrosion problems:

  • Our technicians always take rust/corrosion down to bright metal before applying chemicals.
  • Our technicians always properly clean and prepare ALL (glass part & pinch weld) bonding surfaces.

Removal Process

  • Cowling, trim and panel removal is another important facet of the replacement of your glass part.
  • While other glass companies choose to "work around" or "displace" these items our technicians carefully remove these delicate parts to ensure proper placement of your glass part.
  • Leaving cowling, trim and panel in place during an installation can cause air/water leak issues, electrical damage and improper functions of important safety equipment (ADAS).

The Details

  • Vehicles nowadays are an intricate maze of metal, carbon fiber, electronics and... glass.
